Abstract
Reflecting on the US Presidential poll and voter suppression, Baxi discusses the "right to vote" as the "most fundamental of all rights." He analyzes the legal battles over mail-in ballots and "voter intimidation." Baxi compares these "voter wars" to the Indian experience, arguing that any attempt to "disenfranchise" citizens is an attack on the "basic structure" of democracy. The synopsis notes his warning that when the "ballot box" is threatened, the entire constitutional order is at risk.
