Abstract
Inspired by a US court ruling against frivolous lawsuits, Baxi discusses the need to curb "legal bullying" in India. He argues that while access to justice is a fundamental right, the weaponization of the legal system to harass opponents or delay justice is an "abuse of process." Baxi suggests that the Indian judiciary should adopt stricter penalties for vexatious litigants who waste precious judicial resources. By cleaning up the "litigation landscape," the courts can focus on genuine grievances.
